Many people do not realize exactly what snorkeling actually is. They often confuse snorkeling with scuba diving. Snorkeling consists of swimming with a mask, a pair of fins and a tube known as a snorkel, which permits you to submerge your face under the water while still being able to breath. Snorkeling tends to differ from scuba diving in that it does not require the use of air tanks, regulators nor any of the other expensive equipment. Scuba diving permits the diver to breathe while submerged under the water whereas snorkeling permits you to breath with your face under the waters surface while you are swimming topside. Lastly, snorkeling does not require any sort of official certification as found with its cousin scuba diving. |
